No local CD-ROM Drive

General Use - Updated 01/12/99

Product
On-Demand 4 Repair

Version: 4.x

Symptom

How to install On-Demand 4 Repair Single-user on a system with no local CD-ROM drive, but one is available on the network.

Solution

After you share and map a CD-ROM drive to install, the program will automatically check for a local CD-ROM drive, "Checking CDROM". Since it cannot find a local CD-ROM drive, the program will come up with several errors. It will also lock you out of the CD Preferences screen.

To bypass, edit the mtcdreg.ini in odwin32 sub directory. Set the 'Use Local Drive' to false. This will allow you to open the program to set the datapath for the CD or DVD drive(s) that you have mapped.
