My
HP LaserJet 1000 Printer prints a black
square block in place of a wiring diagram
This is a known problem
with the HP printer software, not the
Mitchell 1 program. To correct this problem,
you must download the current printer
driver from the driver
downloads, updates, and software packages
page on the Hewlett
Packard website.

I
am an On-Demand version 4.x/DVD user with
a Windows95 operating system. When I open
On-Demand, I am either getting a blank
screen or the message "image library
errors when pulling up diagrams."
This error is generated
if an older version of CDFS.VXD from Windows
95 is in the c:\windows\system\iosubsys
directory. Check the date of the file
CDFS.VXD in the \windows\system\iosubsys
directory. If the file date is 7/11/95,
overwrite it with the updated file (dated
8/24/96) found on the On-Demand 4 installation
CD in the directory \drivers\mcrsft. Finally,
reboot the system. After the system reboots,
On-Demand should operate normally.

When
I try to print, I receive the heading
and the border but no text. Also the print
preview screen is blank. How do I resolve
this problem?
This problem is created
when there is a conflict with the version
of MFC42.DLL that is installed on a customer's
computer.
- Insert the On-Line
Installation CD in to the computer.
After it launches cancel the installation.
- Double click on 'My
Computer' and right click on the CD-ROM
drive that list the On-line Installation
CD(ODSCD01-1).
- A box should appear
then click on 'Explore'. After clicking
'Explore' you should see a list of folders
and files.
- Double click on the
yellow folder marked 'Util' then double
click on the yellow folder marked 'SYS'.
- Click on 'MFC42.DLL'
it should become highlighted. After
the file is highlighted click edit at
the top of the screen and then choose
'Copy'. After choosing 'Copy' close
all open windows.
- Click on 'My Computer'
then click on 'C:\'.Find the folder
called 'Mitchell'. Double click on the
'Mitchell' folder then double click
on the 'Repair' folder. Double click
on the 'ODWIN32' folder.
- Finally click 'Edit'
located at the top of the screen. Choose
'Paste' and the 'MFC42.DLL file will
be copied into the program directory.
You should now be able to launch the
program and it should print normally.
- This error is common
with the multiple computer programs
available in the market place. Unfortunately
a lot of software manufacturers use
MFC42.DLL along with many other shared
library files. The instructions above
are primarily for the latest version
of On-Demand 4.4 but, should resolve
a printing problem with an earlier version
of software.

I am receiving a
Wod32 error provider cannot be found when
trying to access scheduled services.
How do I resolve this problem?
Install
the MDAC_TYP.EXE off of the 4.4 installation
CD. This file is located in the \Microsoft\
folder. After the installation restart
the computer. If you are using the Windows95
operating system you may also need to
install DCOM95.EXE.
- Note: This
fix is for the current version of On-Demand
4.4. All files listed to install are
directly from Microsoft and can also
be downloaded from their web site. Microsoft
