An Error Has Occurred (5003:0x5) General Use - Updated 02/27/04Product OnDemand5 Repair Version 5.5 Symptom During the upgrade installation the following errors occurs: An error has occurred (5003:0x5) while running the setup, please make sure that you have finished any previous setup. Solution Run Msconfig, Uncheck "Process config.sys file", Uncheck "Prcess Autoexec.bat file", Uncheck "Load Startup Group Itmes", Apply & Reboot. *Note: Win98 is the only OS that has the Autoexec.bat & Config.sys options. After reboot, if you are still getting the same error check the systray. Norton Anti-Virus was still running despite startups being disabled in MSCONFIG. Disable Norton by right-clicking on the Tray icon & choosing "Disable". Run the upgrade again and it should completed successfully. Submitted by BS-2/27/04 |
