Quote Setup

Canadian Pricing | Shop Information | Change Password

Before you begin generating Quotes in OnDemand, it is very important that you set your shop labor rate and other shop rates. You have the opportunity to set up to three labor rates and apply charges for Hazardous Materials and Shop Supplies in the Quote Options dialog box.

To set your shop labor rate:

1. Choose Setup then Quotes Default Settings. The Quotes Default Settings dialog box displays. By default, quote options are displayed. The following options are available:

Option Description
Labor Rate The Name and Rate at which hours will be extended on quotes. You can enter up to three labor rates, the first of which will be entered by default. Enter a name and rate for each labor rate. By default, the rate you enter first will be applied to quotes.
Shop Supplies

Default On - Check this box to add Shop Supplies charges to orders by default. Taxable - Check this box to tax Shop Supplies on orders. Choose Flat Rate, and then a dollar amount, to define your Shop Supplies charge as a standard charge independent of part sales.

Choose Rate % to apply Shop Supplies as the percentage of total parts sales at which Shop Supplies charges will be added to quotes. Enter Min and Max values as a floor and ceiling to your shop supply charges.

Tax

Labor Tax Rate - The percentage rate at which labor dollars will be taxed on quotes. For example, an entry in this field of 7.500 yields tax rate of 7.5% on the labor cost of the quote.

Parts Tax Rate - The percentage rate at which parts dollars will be taxed on quotes. For example, an entry in this field of 7.500 yields tax rate of 7.5% on the parts cost of the quote.

Check Default On to apply the charges by default.

Miscellaneous

You can enter a price adjustment to mark up (or down) labor guide prices on your quotes. For example, a markup of 1.10 will markup parts prices by 10%.

Country - Choose between United States and Canada for pricing data on your quotes. By default, the Country will be the same as your address specified in Shop Information. To change to Canadian pricing, select Canada from the list:

Hazardous Materials

Default On - Check this box to add HazMat charges to orders by default. Taxable - Check this box to tax the HazMat charges. Choose Flat Rate, and then a dollar amount, to define your Hazmat charge as a standard charge independent of labor charges.

Choose Rate % to apply Hazardous Materials as the percentage of total labor sales. Enter Min and Max values as a floor and ceiling to your HazMat charges.

Show Quotes for this PC Only Check this option to display all the Quotes generated by personal computers at your location. Uncheck this option to look only at Quotes generated on the specific workstation you are currently working on.

2. Set your Shop Rates and click Save when finished.
Future quotes will reflect your new rates.

Shop Information

The Shop Information setup dialog box allows you to change your Shop's Address and other Information that displays on your printed quotes. To access this dialog box, choose Settings/Shop Information.

Tip: Just enter Zip Code and Tab to the next field to auto-fill City, State, and Zip information.
